As an integral part of the research function of the UAA
Justice Center the SAC is involved, in one capacity or another, with many of
the on-going projects at the Center. As well as performing data collection,
electronic and manual, the SAC maintains datasets/DB's. Maintanence includes
importing data extracts into relational databases as well as exporting data for
use in other programs such as SPSS, ESRI, GeoDA, etc. Maintanence
also involves the creation of new variables, subsets for additional analysis,
spatial information additions and cross database indexes.
Current projects:
Anchorage Wellness Court Evaluation: NIJ grant #2003-880201-AK-IJ, data
collection and analysis
Anchorage
Communities Well Being: BJA grant #2004-BJ-CX-K017, establish and maintain a
data warehouse of community indicators including but not limited to justice
issues.
In addition to the above noted on-going projects the SAC recently provided:

mapping and interviewing support for the East Anchorage Weed and Seed project

data entry and analysis for the Alaska Bar Association's Survey for a federal
judgeship appointment

data collection and analysis for FPD workload on the Fairbanks annex project
