The Alaska Justice Statistical Analysis Center is
the Statistical Analysis
Center (SAC) for Alaska under a program funded by the
Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice. It has been
housed in the Justice Center of the University of Alaska Anchorage since its
inception in the mid-1980s.
The SAC supports the mission of the Justice
Center by acting as a clearinghouse for justice-related information, by forming
a liaison with federal and state officials, and by conducting research on
justice issues relevant to Alaska.
SAC Activities

Research support for publication of the
Alaska Justice Forum, a quarterly justice research newsletter
published jointly by the Justice Center and the Statistical Analysis Center.
The Forum publishes articles on Alaska justice issues, including many
based on Justice Center and SAC research, and national reports from the
Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Acting as an information clearinghouse for justice information and data of
agencies and bureaus of the U.S.
Department of Justice, including the
Office of Justice Programs, the
National Institute of Justice, the
Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the
Bureau of Justice Statistics, the
Bureau of Justice Assistance, the
Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), and the
National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) through its
collection of government documents in the Justice Center Library, Internet
resources made available through the Justice Center Web Site and the SAC
website, articles in the
Alaska Justice Forum, and providing information directly to
members of the public and justice and news agencies and organizations.
